The messages log as viewed through ktail shows what happens when the network is restarted.
1) The network shuts down.
2) The first interface to be activated is the the loopback (lo) interface (more about that later).
3) Then the ethernet interface (eth0) is activated. It should show no errors if it was configured properly.
This is the same sequence you may observe when the computer boots up.
