There are three installation classes to choose from (not available in the "Desktop" product).

The Recommended install is intended for new Linux users who prefer to let the installer make most of the decisions.

The Customized option allows you to partition and format your drives using DiskDrake, and offers software package selection based on pre-sorted groups.

An Expert installation provides many of the same options as Customized, plus adds individual software package selection and several advanced features.

This window also contains Install or Update buttons to specify if this will be a new installation or an upgrade of an earlier Linux-Mandrake system.
