Open-Xchange scripts
Quoting Open-Xchange.org:
The OPEN-XCHANGE Collaboration and Integration Server Environment
allows you to store appointments, contacts, tasks, mails, bookmarks, documents,
and many more elements and share them with other users.
This environment can be accessed via any modern web browser and multiple fat clients like
KDE Kontact,
Apples iCAL,
Konqueror,
Mozilla Calendar,
any many more,
based on open standards and interfaces.
If you download OXlook,
then OPEN-XCHANGE can also be accessed via MS Outlook and Palm devices...
This page is about an Open-Xchange rpm package designed for optimal integration with SME7.
To install:
This is a new setup untill we figure out an alternative for Java
The last 5 links lead to the Java License Agreement
Get these files and place them in a directory on your sme:
e-smith-java
e-smith-open-xchange
jdk-1_5_0_03-linux-i586.bin
javamail-1_3_2-upd.zip
jaf-1_0_2-upd2.zip
jta-1_0_1B-classes.zip
jta-1_0_1B-doc.zip
Run the first script:
chmod +x e-smith-java; ./e-smith-java
Run the second script:
chmod +x e-smith-open-xchange; ./e-smith-open-xchange
Well, that's all the commandline work.
Go to the server-manager and open the Open-Xchange panel.
Change the status to "Enabled" and apply by saving.
You may refresh a few times to see when it finishes, this will take some time.
Once it finishes, reset the password of any users (including admin) you wish to login with,
and login on yourserver/cgi-bin/login.pl.
You may also want to have a look at the various options on the server manager panel,
and the additional fields on the create/modify users page
(you need to choose the fields in Open-Xchange, -> General settings first)
Open-Xchange Road Map
This is the current road map for e-smith-open-xchange. Please respect that it changes depending on my mood. Once in a while I find some new wonderfull idea and decide it is more important than some other idea. It can also be that some things become uninteresting and end up not being implemented at all.
Open-Xchange dependencies
Create basic e-smith rpms, following the sme guidelines, for PostgreSQL and Tomcat5.
Core
Version 0.6
The following changes should not be (directly) noticed by users/administrators:Replacing system() calls in the code, this perl class should refine the interface with PostgreSQL.
- Autodetect/repair:
Using a separate subroutine, Open-Xchange should be checking the system for dependencies and configuration. It should also have the capability of repairing minor issues. * Event integration: Open-Xchange has not been included into all events which may effect it's configuration.
- Clean code:
The code contains parts which have not been refined since implementation.
The following changes describe new features:
- Error checking/resolving:
Proper feedback, reaction to problems when an action/event was triggered through the server-manager.
- Language support:
The ability to process new language packs from the server-manager.
- SyncML support:
Support all functionality of SyncML
- IBay support:
Possibility of changing the location of webfiles.
Feel free to make suggestions here.
