The QA Verify stage is used to check that a package appears to work correctly before it is rolled out to the community in the Update Publish stage.
The Steps
- An email will be sent to devinfo@lists.contribs.org with links to the Bug Report for each package.
- Download the RPM package from updates-testing, which can be done using yum, or download and install manually.
- Use the package and note any problems found in the Bug Report, an example.
Level of testing and feedback required
- Use the package as normal and publish the results.
- Three people are required to verify the package.
- Any negative reports will cause the process to be restarted.
- Alternatively, there is a discretionary timeout of two weeks after which a package may move to the updates directory if there is at least one positive notation.
How To Participate
The community can help by testing the packages once announced by email on devinfo
Each person who has tested the functionality provided by the package is encouraged to add a notation in the tracker, an example, which must include the release that they are using.
