I couldn't recall the exact wording of the error as the server I am using to get 4.1 sorted out had lost a disk and was unavailable. The disk has now been replaced and this is the error. I have tried compiling NeMaC under Solaris, to see whether this problem is related to the NeMaC OS or 64bit architecture. It would appear that it isn't as the same problem re-occurs.
