Some will, some won't. For 3.12, I used the one listed in the FAQ, the NLI Skulker. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Jun 1996 19:15:08 GMT-0100 From: Andre Boogaards Subject: Re: Not-Logged-In Terminator products SURVEY >I would like to hear what other Novellers are using >to deal with "Not-Logged-Ins". We're using killconn.exe from the JRB utils package. Simply type killconn /n and it will happily kill all NLI's. Apart from that, several other nice utilities are included with JRB.. I don't recall at the moment where I found it, but it shouldn't be hard to come by. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 06:00:00 CDT From: Larry Dolinar Subject: Re: How to remove "not logged in" >>Is there a possibility to tell the Nov. server with NW 3.11 to remove >>the connections which are "not logged in " ? > >Just make the people turn off their workstations - and they will be unknown >to the system. Or pickup ZZCLR.ZIP from ftp://netlab2.usu.edu/sys/anonftp/netwire/novuser/07/ Better features than NLICLEAR and you can exclude particular workstations from being slammed, as well as setting thresholds/cycle, etc. Selected excerpts from the README.DOC: ZZClear NLM An NetWare Enhancement from Scott Wertz ZZClear is a replacement for Novell's NLICLEAR.NLM that ships with NetWare 3.12. NLICLEAR clears NOT-LOGGED_IN connections from your server after a time interval that you specify. This is a nice feature, with one drawback: your users are constantly faced with an Abort/Retry message each time they login because their connection has been terminated. Worse, if you've got a machine that only logs in after hours to run backups, you may have a problem. ZZClear is similar to NLICLEAR, except that it only bumps user connections when your server is low on free connection slots. This approach reduces the inconvenience to your users (and the number of support calls you get!). Better yet, ZZClear accepts a list of node addresses that you never want bumped so that you can continue to run your backups as usual. NLICLEAR is also advertised as a solution for NetWare Runtime only, while ZZClear works on any 3.11 or 3.12 server. NOTE: 3.11 servers may report that connections are being cleared, but no connections are ever cleared. This is an indication that you need to upgrade your NIC driver and/or CLIB.NLM. A sample CFG file is included in the package for your convenience; just modify the entries there, or delete it if you're satisfied with the defaults. When you load the NLM, it will echo your settings to the screen. If the settings don't match what you thought you set, then either your CFG file has a typo, or it's not in the same directory as ZZCLEAR.NLM. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 09:39:38 -0400 From: Jayson Agagnier Subject: Re: How to remove "not logged in" >Is there a possibility to tell the Nov. server >with NW 3.11 to remove the connections which are >"not logged in " ? Novell has written an NLM called NLICLEAR, this will remove all connections marked as "NOT-LOGGED-IN" after a defined period of time. You can find it at ftp.novell.com or netlab2.usu.edu. [Floyd: Warning: NLICLEAR seems to lack documentation] ------------------------------
