Simply drag an application from the Finder onto an empty square in a dock and then drag documents onto it as normal. Click a docked application to launch it or bring it to the front. In addition, the docks can contain files, folders, disks and servers, and there are also options to display the currently running processes, and all mounted disks, in special docks. On Mac OS X, you can even show the Trash on the Finder Desktop again. Major new features in this version include: * A new dynamic "Disk Dock" which can display all your hard disks, removable media, and connected servers, much in the same way as the "Process Dock" displays all your running applications. Free your desktop! * You can now use almost any key as a hot key on Mac OS X to open applications and documents, run AppleScripts, and open URLs - including the function keys. No modifier keys required! * DragThing is now a multi-lingual bundled application with support for English, Japanese, German, French and Italian. * Dozens more features and fixes requested by registered DragThing users A full list of all the changes is here: This is a free upgrade for existing registered users of DragThing 4, $10 for registered users of previous versions, and $25 for new users. Helps keep your Mac safe from your co-workers while at the office, and from your kids while at home. email: lockout@mauisoftware.com www: New for LockOut 4.1: - New background window option in General prefs: ScreenSaver. - New Security prefs: Clear session log. If set, the log clears when LockOut quits. - Password set from the File menu (instead of the Preferences). - Admin utility can disable the user from setting the password. - If the username is blank, LockOut fills it with the name from the File Sharing control panel, and if that fails, from the Internet control panel. New for LockOut 4.0: Below is a partial list of new features. Ç Admin mode is now set by a separate application called "LockOut Admin". This application is normally used by a system administrator type person. "LockOut Admin" allows enabling or disabling of LockOut functions. For example, the LockOut 'quit' function or any of the preferences can be disabled for whatever reason. Ç New Security preferences added: --- "Warn of any break-in attempts after exiting LockOut mode". If checked, and if any break-in attempts occur, an alert appears after exiting LockOut mode. --- "Switch to last application after exiting LockOut mode". If checked, after exiting LockOut mode the last application used prior to LockOut becomes the front application. --- "Use Keychain for password". If checked, LockOut stores and uses the password found in the default Keychain Access control panel. You can edit the Keychain Access control panel and add a new LockOut password item (Important: the Name must be LockOut, and the Account must be the user name used for LockOut). --- þAllow other apps to Quit LockOut without a password when in LockOut mode™. If checked, allows other applications (like the Finder) to quit LockOut without LockOut requesting a password. ********** ABSTRACT CROPPED ********** [Archived as /info-mac/cfg/lockout-41.hqx; 973 K] ------------------------------ Date: 12 Apr 2002 From: Roland Gustafsson To: Subject: [*] PresentMovie 1.4 PresentMovie - a simple utility for playing QuickTime compatible movies, full screen (c) 2002 by Roland Gustafsson, All Rights Reserved What does PresentMovie do? PresentMovie plays QuickTime compatible movies (.mov, .mpg or VCDs) stretched to fit the full screen. The main reason I wrote PresentMovie was to allow my children to easily view QT movies without having to go through the multiple steps required in QuickTime Player Pro. (cmd-O to open movie, cmd-M for present movie, select full screen with mouse, click OK) How do I use it? PresentMovie is unusual in that it doesn't have a standard user interface. You can use it in a few different ways: 1) Drag one or more movies to PresentMovie and they are played one after the other. 2) Drag a folder containing movies to PresentMovie and they are played. (Only the movies in the immediate folder.) 3) Place a copy of PresentMovie in a folder with one or more movies and then simply launch PresentMovie which scans the folder in which you launched it for movies which it then plays. 4) Drag a VCD icon to PresentMovie and it is played. (MacOS 8.1-9.2 only) Keyboard commands: --- Movie Size --- 0 - half size 1 - normal size 2 - double size 3 - fill screen maintaining aspect ratio (default) (Note that 0-3 match the equivalent cmd-keys in QuickTime Player) 4 - fill screen completely (will distort if aspect ratio of movie doesn't match monitor) - - reduce size + - increase size [Archived as /info-mac/gst/present-movie-14.hqx; 88 K] -------------------------------- --Info-Mac-Digest-- End of Info-Mac Digest ******************************
