Semtex for OS/2

.level-editor.

The level-editor is part of the full version of Semtex. It enables you to create and modify your own levels. At the bottom of the screen you see the toolbar. Here's a short description of the buttons:

After you selected the level you want to modify you can use the mouse to set the fields within this level. Use the left button to set a field and the right mouse button to pick up an item. There are two other ways to select an item: The fields in the toolbar or the keyboard as described below. It is not possible to set a field at the yellow marked positions. These fields must stay free for the players. If you cannot set a field at all, this could be because the level is write protected. This is indicated by the red numbers in the level selector. These are the default levels of Semtex. You cannot modify them directly. But you can copy them and modify the copy: Press 'A' to save them in ASCII-format, create a new level with 'N' and load the saved ASCII-file with 'L'. (More details in the key-list)

After modifying a level you should play a test-game ('Test' in the toolbar) and - if the level is OK - save it!

The ASCII-format of a level is good for distributing levels via internet or e-mail.

Here's a list of all keys supported by the level-editor:
