File: 3dmov.tgz Author: Be Engineering (wadams@be.com) Release: macworld 97 Compatibility: DR8.2 Location: Samples/3dmov.tgz Description: DR9 3DKit texture mapping preview Notes: This is the demo that was used at MacWorld to Wow them This application shows off some of the texture mapping features of the 3DKit that is coming in DR9. It was done for MacWorld 97 and thus does not include any source at this time. We will release some of the sources when DR9 becomes available. In order to install it, simply unpack the archive and put the 3dCube application somewhere like /boot/apps, or wherever you normally put your executables. The general idea is, whenever you see a gray surface, you can drag and drop one of three things onto it. 1) .tiff images. Many of the images that come with the BeOS are in fact tiff images, so you can drag them onto the surfaces. 2) QuickTime movies. Those movies that come on the disk, or if you have some of your own. It helps if the files are 256X256. 3) Live video feed! If you get the package bt848.tgz, then you can drop the /boot/system/drivers/planb file onto a surface and it will display live video on that surface. See the file in that package to understand what is required to make this work.
