File: musicweaver_1_3_ppc.zip, musicweaver_1_3_x86.zip Author: Pete Goodeve (pete@jwgibbs.cchem.berkeley.edu) Release: 1.3 -- 24 August 1999 (supersedes all earlier archives) Compatibility: BeOS R4 and later Location: contrib/audio Description: 'The MusicWeaver' Graphical MIDI Stream Arranger Notes: The major advance in Release 1.3 is the new version of the Weaver core program itself. There are a couple of new modules and some enhancements to older ones as well. For those new to the package, the MusicWeaver is a suite of small modules, instances of which can be connected together in a 'diagram' to manipulate MIDI streams -- mostly intended to enhance live performance (with added voices, delays, quick patch change and so on). It is also capable of playing -- and playing with -- prerecorded midifiles. This freely distributable version has no means of recording the MIDI stream, but a module for this is available to registered users. New features of Weaver v3.0 include 'Composite' elements (multi-level diagrams), replacement of elements, routing of paths, on-line help, and more. For the various enhancements to the MusicWeaver modules themselves, please see the package READMEs and other documentation. Usage: The zip archive should unpack into a complete, ready-to-run, directory hierarchy. See the READMEs in the package for a guide to the full documentation. Note that if you are updating an earlier installation you are likely to need to invoke the (included) "Update_Tracker" script to get the correct icons (see the Weaver_README in the package).
