File: Twang-0.1.pkg Author: David Karla Release: 0.1 (2/11/98) Compatibility: R3.2 (tested & ok on R4b) Location: contrib/audio Notes: Twang is a plucked string algorithm adapted for use with the full commercial version of Rack747-Om-1.00. The addon itself is distributed with the full release of Rack747. Included here is the source of the addon: * it is based on the cmix library, a classic and beautiful collection of public domain DSP. As an adaption from such such a source, it must be freely distributed with source code. The originals can be found in many places. Off the top of my head, Princeton's sound kitchen has the full set. * this should provide as simple template for those brave souls who would like to plug their own wierd DSP into Rack747. I have included headers for my library of toys, Gloub.so, but not the library itself, which should (if you have a current Rack747) be living in /boot/home/config/lib. I make no apologies (except for this one) about how wierd or useless or asymetrical Gloub.so is: it is what I've made it as I've needed it, and I've pretty much knocked most of it out on the fly. Some of the older classes have matured, and they're cool. Some haven't, and are a mess. Most of the newer bits are more orthogonally designed, and I like them: but not all. Use it freely. I don't really trust "friend"s and am only "protected" and "private" with myself, so you can easily create chaos (good or bad) with this lib. It also offers access to my own asynchronous input hack ("BeAGoodSocialist"): use carefully, as this is pretty experimental. By my own conventions (ie those of the given .proj), the GlobalDefs folder should live in the parent directory of "Twang"... and I can't work out how to get WreckageBuilder to do this. You'll either have to do this by hand, or change the project to reflect the header's location. As I'd love to see and hear new addons for Rack747, please don't hesitate to call me for any assistance you require. (dak@zog.net.au) Squelch and Enjoy. Dak
