This announces the release of Linux/68k-2.0.15. This kernel is compatible with the native 2.0.15 kernel, but it also contains a pre2.0.16 patch from Linus, which should fix a couple of bugs in the native 2.0.15 kernel. I have not added Geert's and Andreas' changes for the bootinfo system, as I think it is not a good idea to bump the revision of the boot-loaders at the moment. Instead this should be done when we start working on 2.1, which is about to begin very soon now. Several minor bugs have been fixed, including the missing Makefile definitions. Here is a list of the most important changes: Jesper Skov: o The 68060 support should work now, its not perfect yet, but still far better than under 1.2.13pl10. o fpu-state was checked incorrectly in clone(), causing the fpu-state to be copied even though the fpu was not active. Richard Hirst: o Fixed a bug in kernel_thread(). Roman Zippel: o A missing patch to amiflop.c Guenther Kelleter: o in atari_NCR5380.c cmd->done() was called instead of cmd->scsi_done(). This should fix some (or all?) of the problems with scsi timeouts on the Atari Falcon. Guenther also reports that cmd_per_lun can be set to a value larger than 1 now. Andreas Schwab: o Fixed a bug in the signal-handling. Joerg Dorchain & Andreas Schwab: o Support for both little- and big-endian filesystems. I removed the compile-time option as we will all have to change our filesystems one last time to be compliant with the filesystems of all the other architectures. Theodore Ts'o is working on a special version of e2fsck for this. This change will hopefully be more smooth than the last change as it will be possible to run both the old and the new filesystem for some time. Thats all folks, the new kernel is, as usual, available at SunSITE.auc.dk under /pub/os/linux/680x0/v2.0 and its mirrors. 08/30/96 Jes Sorensen (jds@kom.auc.dk).
