IEBoard v1.0 is a Web monitor. Used to automatically detect updates of any webpages that you have entered and immediately sends an alert by means of a beeping sound and displaying scrollbar on the computer desktop. Provides pause, resume and continue operation buttons. You can customize alert methods, scrollbar location and relocate it. Use IEBoard to track those can't afford miss web page updates and, ultimately, save yourself time.

Working as E*Trade IPO monitor, IEBoard automatically detects E*Trade new IPO offer and immediately alerts you. You no longer have to sit in front of your computer and click mouse every minute.

1. SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

To run IEBOARD, you will need:

Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 95
Java runtime environment(JRE) or Swing and Java Developer Kit(JDK) version 1.1.X and higher
Internet Connection
Running on UNIX System is expected though not tested

2. INSTALLATION NOTES

Unzip file and put into one directory. Under this directory, should have one images directory to store GIF files.

3. RUN IEBOARD

If you connect Internet through proxy server or firewall:

java -Dhttp.proxyHost=? -Dhttp.proxyPort=? IEBOARD address keyword1 keyword2 …

If you connect Internet without proxy server and firewall:

java IEBOARD address keyword1 keyword2 …

address: specific web page you want to track. "-" use default address
keyword: keyword you want to track. keyword is case sensitive. IEBOARD supports multiple keywords.

4. PERFORMANCE TIPS

You do not need to type command every time. Save command line in IEBOARD.bat file. Next time, just run IEBOARD.bat file by clicking it. Change keywords inside IEBOARD.bat file whenever you need.

Try to give good keywords. More general keyword is usually better. For example, when try to catch all messages including 10/5/99, use 5/ as keyword so that 10/05/99, 10/5/1999 and 10/05/1999 can all be matched.

Use Quite Mode to only send beep sound. Scroll bar will not be displayed. This is very useful if you don't want other people know what you are tracking.

6. ORDER
