The winner must accept the prize in person at the 2015 INFORMS Annual

effective use of COIN-OR that the community may not know about.
Submissions will be judged by a committee including members of the

during the INFORMS Annual meeting in Philadelphia, PA. All entrants,
their supporters, and other interested parties are welcome to join the
celebration and regale, rile, and roast the prize winners. The
celebration will take place Monday, November 2nd, 7:30 pm. The precise

This monograph contains the author's work of the last four years in
discrete and fractional analysis. We introduce the right delta and
right nabla fractional calculus on time scales. We continue with the
right delta and right nabla discrete fractional calculus in the Caputo
sense. Then, we give representation formulae of functions on time
scales and we present Ostrowski type inequalities, Landau type
inequalities, Gruss type and comparison of means inequalities, all
these over the time scales. We continue with integral operator
inequalities and their multivariate vectorial versions using convexity
of functions, again all these over time scales. It follows the Gruss
and Ostrowski type inequalities involving s-convexity of functions; we
examine also the general case when we involve several functions. Then,
we present general fractional Hermite–Hadamard type inequalities using
m-convexity and (s, m)-convexity. Finally, we introduce the reduction
method in fractional calculus and study its connection to fractional
Ostrowski type inequalities. This book's results are expected to find
applications in many areas of pure and applied mathematics, especially
in difference equations and fractional differential equations. The
chapters are selfcontained and can be read independently, and advanced
courses can be taught out of it. It is suitable for researchers,
graduate students, and seminars of the above subjects. It serves well
as an invaluable resource for all science libraries.

Model-based simulation and optimization methods become increasingly
important for the development of new products and more efficient
processes. Fundamental requirement to leverage the full potential of
model-based methods is the development of predictive mathematical
models and their quantitative validation. This complex task requires
robust and efficient numerical methods for parameter estimation.
Furthermore, advanced control of processes in real time needs fast and
reliable numerical methods for state estimation. Industrial practice
shows that in order to realize the full potential of modeling complex
processes we have to deal with a number of new challenges. Because of
the high relevance of parameter and state estimation methods for
current and future research and development, the Heidelberg
Collaboratory for Industrial Optimization (HCO) invites decision
makers, researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to
participate in this workshop.

In Honour of Lord Julian Hunt’s 75th Birthday Wednesday 6 – Friday 8
July 2016 - King’s College Cambridge, UK The theme of this conference
is to discuss, with review lectures and contributed papers, the
ongoing developments of research in ‘turbulence, waves and mixing’ and
their applications in industry, environment and geo/astro and
mathematical physics. Our understanding and the fundamental questions
about turbulence and mixing have kept developing since O. Reynolds and
Boussinesq made turbulence a subject in 1880s. Pioneers such as
Taylor, Prandtl, Richardson (of King’s College), Kolmogorov (his paper
was published 75 years ago!) and others developed the dynamical and
statistical approaches. Conceptual developments and advances in
practical modelling and prediction during the past 75 years, have
benefitted from 3-dimensional measurement techniques and computer
simulations at very high Reynolds number (>10 5), so that for example
patterns, organised eddy structures, particle trajectories and
conditional analysis can be better quantified and applied in
practice. Papers at the conference cover a wide swath of topics from
large scale instabilities that generate turbulence to small scale
eddies that dissipates turbulence. Research into the interactions
between turbulence and waves in engineering and geophysics, which are
equally interesting and controversial, are also included in the
conference, such as advances in water waves, KdV, solitons, Tsunami
and Air-Sea interactions.
Papers will be accepted for the conference based on a 500 word
abstract for oral presentation. Abstracts should be submitted by
Friday 13 November 2015 to Easychair via

Developing and maintaining applications for heterogeneous computing
systems pose many challenges, especially in medical image processing,
where real-time requirements are also added. The candidate will be
working on cutting edge research related to:
- How to best characterize emerging heterogeneous resource type with

- How to build a framework that can support two or more of the above
resource types with respect to the above criteria.
- Analyse target applications from medical visualization and maybe
also oil & gas and/or matrix computations and identify and explore the

context of cloud-based HPC.
