methods and discuss their applications and algorithms. The following

A postdoctoral position in the field of modeling and scientific
computing for the study of the human heart functioning is available at
the CMCS Chair of Prof. Quarteroni, MATHICSE, EPF Lausanne (

for up to 2 additional years, with starting date between September 1st
and November 1st, 2014.
The candidate will contribute to the research in progress in the Chair
in the field of heart modeling. This includes mathematical and
numerical modeling, numerical approximation of Partial Differential
Equations (PDEs), and code development for High Performance Computing,
including multicore programming techniques. The position includes
teaching activities and duties in compliance with the regulations of
EPFL and the Mathematics Section for scientific collaborators.
Prerequisites include a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics,
Computational Sciences, Computational Mechanics, or related areas, and
experience in the fields of mathematical and numerical modeling for
PDEs, programming, numerical simulation, and High Performance
Computing.
