Subject: [*] Anarcho 1.6
Anarcho is a text editor, nothing more. It is smart enough to do most of the
jobs that all the word processor posers out there are doing. Anarcho uses
150K of RAM and 35K of disk space. In these days of huge expensive
applications, and limited hardware, it is nice to have something free that
will fit in a small space. Anarcho will format text files from lesser
computers including PC text files and QWK mail bundles. In version 1.6 all of
the features have been implemented. This may be the final version. The 68040
compatibility problems and graceless exiting have been eliminated. Enjoy!

Subject: [*] BioAssistant-11-fat
BioAssistant was designed to assist PCR chemists in everyday PCR
chemistry applications, such as probe setup and design, MasterMix
solution protocol setup, DNA sequence manipulation, and Peptide
visualization. It is based on Chaotic Software's first PCR chemistry
applcation, Probe Assistant, but takes it a huge step forward by
introducing a whole lot of new features, redesigned interface, and a
bunch more. Version 1.1 adds the ability to save PCR Master Mix setups,
as requested by several of our users.
More feedback, as usual, is very welcome at Chaotic Software. In this
case, though, applications of this nature must be accurate, and based
very much on what YOU, the chemistry (or other life science discipline)
lab user, would like to see in such a software package. Therefore, if
you find any bugs, or if you have some suggestions for improvement,
please let us know. We would love to make BioAssistant work for you in
all the ways you expect.
BIoAssistant, as with all Chaotic Software products, may be freely
distributed on any NON-COMMERCIAL distribution. Please write for
further information on distribution rights.

CrystalDiffract version 2.0 (FAT binary - runs native on PowerPC, and on
regular Macs)
For folder: math-sci
Keywords: science, crystallography, x-ray diffraction, neutron
diffraction, physics, chemistry, geology
This is a major upgrade to CrystalDiffract, replacing the previous version

Subject: [*] Default Folder D-2.8 - German version of Open/Save dialog enhan
Default Folder is a shareware control panel that enhances Open and Save
dialog boxes to make it easier for you to manage files on your Macintosh.
It provides many of the essential features of the commercial SuperBoomerang
and Directory Assistance utilities, but without the infrequently used
extras that take their toll in compatibility, memory, and CPU usage. And
it's fully compatible with Mac OS 8.1!
Default Folder's time-saving Open and Save dialog enhancements allow you to:
- Set up a default folder for any or all applications.
- Switch among recently used folders from a pop-up menu.
- See available disk space and switch between disks from a pop-up menu.
- Click on a Finder window to display it in an Open or Save dialog.
- Open the folder shown in an Open or Save dialog in the Finder.
- Create folders, get information (including changing name, type, and
creator), and move items to the Trash from within file dialogs.
- "Rebound" back to the last file you used.
- Make "Replace" the default option instead of "Cancel" when saving
a file with the same name as an existing file.
- Speed up the display of Open and Save dialogs by turning off custom
color icons in the file list.
Default Folder will operate on any Macintosh running System 7 or higher.

Subject: [*] FuzzyFind for MacOS Version 1.0
What is FuzzyFind for MacOS?
How was the file named I saved a year ago?
FuzzyFind for MacOS is a tool similar to Apples Find File placed in the
Apple Menu.
The advantage of FuzzyFind is, that it will find files which are named
not exactly as defined in the search string. It will ignore writing
mistakes and find all similar names.
For example if you search for "Account Meier", FuzzyFind will find all
documents which are named with "Account Mayer", "Account Meyer etc. Also
writing mistakes like "Acount" or "Accuont" will not influence the
search result.
FuzzyFind should not replace Find File from Apple. It is an extra tool
for very difficult search processes, where time is not so essential than
finding the right information.

Subject: [*] HelpLess-1.1
Ever wished you could stop the Apple Guide or other help systems swinging
into action when you hit the 'Help' key by accident instead of the delete
key. Tired of waiting for Apple Guide to start up while your busy trying to
edit a document.
Then HelpLess is what your looking for. It helps prevent accidental hits on
the help key, instead just giving a beep.
When you want help to appear you can just hold down a modifier key and
HelpLess will make it look like you pressed the 'Help' key. A simple
control panel interface lets you turn it's activity on/off, control if a
beeps will sound, and choose which modifier key to use.
Compatible with System 7.0 upwards including MacOS 8.
New in version 1.1
-------------------
Added support for Simple Internet Version Control (SIVC). If you are
connected to the internet SIVC allows you to find out what is the current
version of HelpLess and it also gives Redpoint Software a better idea of
how many people are using this software. For more information on SIVC see
http://www.ots.utexas.edu/sivc/index.html.
Added the facility to move the Help menu (under MacOS 8) back to where it
was on machines running System 7.x. This is adapted from an extension
written by Leonard Rosenthol at MacHack '97 called TempoHelper.
Added the facility to exclude some applications from the effects of Helpless.
Why? Well maybe you want the help to work in some applications. Or maybe
you have an application that is incompatible with HelpLess and acts funny
if HelpLess is active.
Shareware. $10.

Subject: [*] MacVenns 1.3.1
MacVenns is a Math/Logic learning game that instructs the user on what Venn
Diagrams are and how they are used to solve Set Theory problems. Some
problems are simple, some are pretty complex. I wrote MacVenns because it
seemed like a 'natural' for a Mac application. MacVenns is directed toward
students studying Set Theory, Boolean Logic, or Venn Diagrams (or persons
who enjoy a mental challenge). It is both fun and educational for all ages,
even small children (my six year old daughter enjoys it). There are only a
few basic concepts to learn, then the fun begins.
Venn Diagrams are used throughout educational systems. My daughter's first
grade class has a Venn Diagram (with chicks and ducks) on the wall. My
nephew studied them in his ninth grade class, my wife and I learned them in
a college computer logic course, my brother-in-law encountered them in the
military. If you're a student, have children, or would just like to try
something different, you should have MacVenns!
*** MacVenns requires a Mac with color monitor!
Distribution: Feel free to share this Demo with friends and/or your local
schools for them to try!

I made it in an attempt to simplify the painful process of transferring

Until now, transferring text into the notebook on my PIC1000 was really
really slow and complicated. The problem: The notebook in Magic Cap (at
least v1.0) wants textfiles in a special format.
This stack simply converts regular textfiles to a notebookfriendly format.
Requirements: Magic XChange, Hypercard (Player) 2.2 or newer.

Night 1.1 Kaleidoscope Color Scheme
Night 1.1 is a dark blue and gray Kaleidoscope color scheme that is easy
on the eyes.
A color scheme for every day use. It comes in two versions, one in the
"Be" variety.
It was designed to be used with Kaleidoscope 1.8.1, but is compatible
with versions down to 1.5.
This version fixes a few cosmetic defects that became evident after the
release of version 1.0. The general design has also been given the once
over, and livened up where needed.
This is what Mark Malowan of the "Chez Mark" Mac shareware site had to
say about Night 1.0.
"If you want to dress up your desktop you won't go wrong with 'Night' a
cleanly drawn 3-D, platinum-accented techie design in rectangular and
'Be' layouts"

Hi Info-Mac,
I'm seeking a third alternative to Localtalk and Ethernet. The goal:
connect two Macs and back-up both hard drives onto a single DAT drive

with a null modem cable and use TCP/IP? Also, what would be the least

The two machines are an 840av (with the tape drive) and a PowerMac 6500.
The software is Retrospect Remote.
Many thanks,

I've done the procedure myself, it will require an Apple Authorized
technician and a specialized cable to repair your display issue.
They'll need to disassemble the rear cowling of the CPU, connect the cable
to the video board & the modem port, and use Apple display utility to
adjust the geometry of the display.
