This is the super simple FreeDOS distribution I ( SimpleFDD I ).
See PROGRAMS.TXT in BASE-bin.zip for details of included programs.
This distribution only contains the base (core DOS) programs.

To use:
Download BASE-bin.zip.
Optionally download BASE-doc.zip and one or more BASE-%lang%.zip

Unzip BASE-bin.zip and if you downloaded it, BASE-doc.zip,
into whatever directory you want FreeDOS installed to.
CD into that directory.
CD into bin.        >CD BIN
*** For a Fat32 enabled FreeDOS only, 
rename the kernel   BIN\>REN KERNEL.SYS KERNEL16.SYS
                    BIN\>REN KERNEL32.SYS KERNEL.SYS
***
Run sys.            BIN\>SYS C:

If you downloaded one or more of the extra %lang% archives,
unzip them in the same directory you unzipped BASE-bin.zip.
It will add message catalogs for programs that have one
for that language.  For programs that use compiled in
messages, it will replace the binary in BIN with one
compiled for that language (assuming it is available);
for this reason, either copy BIN\COMMAND.COM to another
name (e.g. BIN\>COPY COMMAND.COM COMMAND.EN) first if
you still want the english version, and unzip the language
packs in reverse order of the ones you most want (i.e.
if you want DE, if not available then NL, then unzip
BASE-nl.zip 1st, and BASE-de.zip last).
