The FreeDOS Beta 9 Service Release #2 Distribution is now available on ibiblio and Fdos.org.
This release is available as an ISO image and as a diskette distribution in 1.44MB format(s).
For your convenience we also provide a 1.44MB bootdisk image. (A full-featured distribution, like the Beta8 series, still lacks, though.)

please see the readme file for more info.

Dear FreeDOS user,

Hereby I announce an updated version of the FreeDOS Beta9 Distribution. It will be followed by preview editions of FreeDOS 1.0, which means that the FreeDOS Project is now going into maintenance mode to eliminate current remaining issues. A final "1.0" will be released sometime in 2006.

More information about downloading and installing the Beta9 Service Release #2 can be found at our community driven documentation center, in internet terms known as a "WIKI". Please visit our WIKI mainpage at fdos.org, which includes an installation guide.

Should anyone volunteer to help out, there are a few tasks to be done:

Beta9 Service Release #2 can be obtained from Ibiblio.

With kind regards,

Bernd Blaauw

Other disksets have not been included due to lack of time and diskspace  (and especially download time) The ISO file (cdrom image) can be recreated by running MAKEISO.BAT from the ISOLINUX directory, even directly from cdrom. If you want to add your own content, first copy FreeDOS cdrom contents to harddisk, then add your own files, and finally run MAKEISO.
If you only want a direct ISO made out of the cdrom, use the CD2ISO86 program which is located on the cdrom.
