File: BeNFSServerPR5.tgz Author: Andreas Huber (hubera@forwiss.uni-passau.de) Release: PR5 (April, 29th, 1997) Compatibility: DR8.x Location: contrib/network Description: An NFS Server for BeOS Notes: BeNFSServer Preview Release 5 ============================= Hi, again, sorry, I wrecked the last release PR3, this one should fix problems relating to mount-errors (I accidentially removed the PCNFS protocol :( ) The following text is the same as for Release 3. Btw: There is no Preview Release 3, I just wanted those really HIGH numbers.... Once, again, apologies, but... I uploaded my NFSClient together with this file, so .... have fun Hi, folks, once again a new version of BeNFSServer, yet another preview release. There was great response to my posting of the last release, and you will find that the new release incorporates some enhacements and bugfixes related to your reports. I recently sent those contributing people a mail with an updated package I did not make available to the public. This release is GUI-based, but functionally the same as the mailed one. Ok, what do we have here: I cancelled TCP support for the moment, because it did not work at all for any one of you. But there is a nice but sparse GUI now, that will benefit of new features in upcoming versions. The program now assumes that you do not want those annoying debug-messages. to turn them on again just start BeNFSServer with the parameter -verbose. The portmap daemon is incorporated into the main application No need for the rpcinfo helper also, because the portmapper window will show you all the information you need. So far, enjoy Andreas hubera@forwiss.uni-passau.de Thanks to Stefan Brueck Andy Philpotts Marco Nelissen Robert Morse Loren Henry for sending bugreports and feature requests. I know there are still a couple of shortcomings, but I will try to fix them as soon as possible. The same is true for perfomance enhancements. P.S: Those of you desperately waiting for an NFS client may be please by the fact, that I just started such a thing. I will keep you in touch.
