RingModRing 1.0b2 Copyright 1996 Eric Kidd http://www.pobox.com/~emk/sw/be/ ftp://www.dartmouth.edu/people/emk/ftp/be/ DESCRIPTION: This quick hack demonstrates the realtime audio capabilities of the BeBox. When launched, RingModRing installs a BAudioSubscriber at the end of the output stream and begins generating a signal which it multiplies pointwise with the audio buffers. This causes a "ringing" or a "pulsing" sound. You can change the frequncy of the ringing and toggle the filter from the application window. Some frequencies will produce fairly cool effects; others are obnoxious. KNOWN BUGS: * Terrible audio quality * Piggish use of processor cycles * Desperately needs a slider control REVISION HISTORY: 1.0b2 Recompiled for DR8 BTextControl frame resized Fixed buffer overrun bug 1.0b1 Do not show window until filter is running 1.0b0 Initial release CREDITS: RingModRing is based on a filter included with Ben Denkla's fw3210, a DSP framework for Macintosh Quadra AV computers.
